PSW00033 HEIGHT ON STAND: 9.50" WIDTH: 8.00" This Sangorri is an alluring whirling concentric spiral. It is an unsolvable optical riddle that has no solution. The eye just keeps following its direction with no apparent end. It was the most sacred of talismans and represents a serpent who is a symbol of the Lower World of the earth and agriculture. It was worn as a head ornament. It was used by shamans to cure the sick. Many times it was the center if a house shrine or altar. Some were used with wood puppets during powerful rituals. It is simply one of the most endearing abstract forms in all of Indonesian traditional culture. Inquire for futher information and price. |
